This is from experience from dying my hair in blue streaks.

Typically, yes it does fade, but most dye colors that are not natural such as pink, green, blue, etc. will fade fairly quickly if you don't follow proper procedures. Even if you do follow the instrucitons on how to keep the color, you'll need to redye it more than likely within a few months.

Depending on what you do- and haircolor, the blue may fade to a different color. If you have dark hair, they may bleach the area to dye it, and it will turn a wierd blue green and eventually blonde- this also goes the same if you are blonde. If you dye it straight up blue with dark hair, it'll return to your own hair color, but it'll be hard to see the blue in the first place.

To take care of the streaked hair, I suggest for a while, wash your hair in cold water. Hot water can get rid of the dye faster, and during the first few days when the dye is soaking into your hair, washing it in warm water will get rid of most of the color super fast. Also, don't towel off your hair, or squeeze it too tightly, the dye will come out faster, just blow dry it lightly.

My hairstylist suggests not shower your hair at all for a few days, but also suggests the stuff above if you really have to clean your hair.

The best blue streaks that you could get (which is on the expensive side but worth it) is hair extensions. They dont fade. You don't have to ruin your hair with bleach and when

you've had enough you can get the pulled out again.

If you are strategic, you will only need 10-15 pieces for the top that will look fantastic!!
